Haye a former Cruiserweight champion only made the transition to the heavyweight ranks late 2008, he needs time to settle into the division before undertaking such a challenge.
Tomasz Adamek has been on a similar path to Haye, only Adamek has been busier since making the transition. Haye has contested 3 bouts in the heavyweight division over a 20 month period, with Adamek having contested 4 over in half the time. Some would argue Adamek has also faced the stiffer opposition, most notable Chris Arreola, who at the time was ranked amongst the top 10 in the heavyweight division.
Recent speculation has suggested David Haye’s next title defence will be against Olympic Gold medallist Audley ”A Force” Harrison at the M.E.N Arena Manchester. However recent tweets on the social network site twitter seem to contradict that, both have been engaged in a war of words, not uncommon in today’s social media frenzy.
